vintage 1950's mexican skirt ...heavily corded braided black cotton full circle skirt
true vintage late 1940's - early 1950's mexican circle skirt.
we've had almost the exact same design in a full dress (see pic) both with, and without the Maya de Mexico label and although this skirt is without it's original label both the quality and design seem to be that of an original Maya de Mexico piece. I've also compared it to a Maya de Mexico piece I have in my personal wardrobe and the construction and materials are identical.
DETAILS
- classic FULL CIRCLE skirt
- decadent corded, or braided "soutache like" design throughout with stitching that follows every intricate detail
- right side seam hip pocket
- side zip, hook-n-eyes, and a snap at waist
- the fabric appears to be hand-dyed cotton with substantial weight. (this piece will be 3 lbs packed)
