true vintage 1950's decadent new look SAKS FIFTH AVENUE vibrant emerald green (way better than the pics) silk asymmetrical party dress

saks label remains but we can't seem to find the designer label... indicative of the dior new look fashions of the era and we know that they also used this decadent silk in the exact same rich & vibrant color in their collections during the same time -we have turned this dress inside out and searched over, and over because it's just that good!

the construction is beautiful with a fully boned under bodice and waist belt to secure the voluminous skirt...

DETAILS

• classic new look silhouette with a fitted bodice and a FULL CIRCLE skirt
• under sweetheart bodice is fully boned for shape and lined in a nude organza
• underskirt is a taffeta with a stiff horsehair braid around the hem for shape and a lovely movement when you walk
• inside waist belt to secure the weight of the skirt
• deep green millinery roses at the bodice and hip
• bodice fin can be folded down and can be worn-up at the hip
• closes at the back with a metal zipper

again, please consider that the following measurements were taken from the outside of the garment:

bust-34" -35", waist-25", length of skirt from waist to hem-31" 

CONDITION:

excellent/very good -stored in a cedar lined closet for decades. there's a couple tiny spots on the skirt (one below the left hip and one on back mid/lower skirt) that didn't show-up  and we've not tried to remove bc we've recently broken-up with our cleaners. and also what looks like light make-up residue on the inside of the bust and edge of the bodice sides. the hem looks to have been shortened (although the skirt still measures at 31" and the underskirt is perfectly finished?).  price adjusted accordingly.
