1940's House of Branell cranberry red crepe dress
vintage 1940's dress... classic forties cranberry red Branell dress
The fashion house of Branell in New York put out high-end dresses designed by Hilda Altmark which were comparable to Harvey Berin, George Carmel, and Originala of the same era.
Although they designed many decadent and detailed dresses through the 1940's and 1950's, they are perhaps most famous for the lovely, yet simple and well tailored shirtwaist design that Grace Kelly wore for the official announcement of her engagement to Price Rainier.
