RARE true vintage 1970’s spectacular GOLDWORM Monet impressionist landscape print virgin wool with sheer printed bishop sleeves dress ...made in Italy

the print is AMAZING! rich colors and detail that is so striking in person.

one tag reads 100% pure virgin wool (which applies to the body of the knit) and the GOLDWORM tag reads 80% wool 20% silk (which we believe applies to the body & the sheer printed sleeves) ***the wool is soft and supple and not at all itchy

Established in 1928, the Goldworm Knitwear company influenced the entire knitwear industry. In the late 1940’s, they joined forces with a small Italian knitwear company owned by the Dragone family. This merger allowed them to create American fashions with traditional Italian craftsmanship.

They’ve received many awards including the prestigious Coty Award and were the first American company to receive the Premio Mercurio D’oro; Italy’s highest award for commercial and economic achievement.

vintage size 6 with some stretch to the knit. the following were taken flat without stretching

bust-34", waist-34", hips-36", shoulders-14", sleeves-17", length-57"

CONDITION:

very good/excellent. the colors are rich and vibrant. when held to the light we found a few tiny holes that are hard to detect with the print; the largest (shown in pic) is in the back by the left side seam (and a teeny nibble by that) and there's a smaller one in the back near hem by the right side seam. the elastic in the sleeves should be replaced. price adjusted accordingly.
